iQ Kids Radio is a commercial-free, family-friendly educational radio station developed by WQED Multimedia and SLB Radio Productions, Inc. with generous support from the Junior League of Pittsburgh.
Based on more than 75 years of combined experience in the radio industry, this new, innovative model leverages the assets of WQED, PBS, and the popular Saturday Light Brigade Radio show to develop an online streaming media platform for families with children birth to age 12. iQ Kids Radio is a trusted source for media that caregivers can rely on and enjoy themselves (when no one is looking of course!). iQ Kids Radio is a safe, entertaining, and fun way to learn, listen, laugh – and much more.
This educational effort combines age-appropriate content from multiple disciplines – literacy, science, music, geography and more – into shows like Storytelling, Language Lessons, Music Appreciation, Children’s Literature, Science, and Youth Voices. In addition, iQ Kids Radio features music from diverse genres, including music performed by kids themselves.
iQ Kids Radio is an all-Saturday show, anchored in the morning by Saturday Light Brigade and finishing the night with a kids’ dance party followed by lullabies and classical music in the overnight hours. We hope you’ll join us each week to listen, imaginatively.
